The factory file is `sizes-FW26.xlsx`. Three tabs: Women, Men, Kids. The numbers are right. Shopify still shows a 2024 PNG in the product gallery. Someone is about to retype rows into a theme table. Two figures slip. Size M becomes an 88 cm chest.
Shopify import a table from Excel is the question: can that workbook be the source, or does every cell get typed again? The OO - Advanced Table Builder listing lists import/export under Display options and Works with Excel, Google Sheets, AI. Docs do not spell a File → Open workbook path. What they do spell: draft a table from a description or a screenshot, then review Structure.
We already walked groups and modules and AI from a description or screenshot. This piece is the workbook you already have.
A rich-text metafield is not a grid. An HTML table in the description folds on a phone. Theme sections with rows: you retype them at the next drop. Shopify’s product help does not mention Excel size charts.
What stores do until the centimetres drift:
A PNG of the sheet on the PDP. Not searchable, not translatable, not a single cell you can fix.
Rows on a page. No product link. Two sources of truth.
CSV into some other table app whose mapping you do not own. No competitor names. Also: we will not invent a click path the docs omit.
Listing path we *can* use: import/export, Excel, Sheets, AI. Create and refine tables with AI: Create table → Generate with AI → description and/or screenshot (PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, max 4 MB). AI picks a type, fills sample structure, can pull colours from the image. Multiple charts in one photo (Men + Women) become separate blocks. A screenshot of an Excel tab is that photo. Not a second product.
OO - Advanced Table Builder is Free. Listing 5.0 from 1 review. Size charts, specs, comparison, tabbed, Us vs Them. Visual builder or AI draft. Product and variant metafields. CTA stays `tables-specs-comparisons`. Docs may still say Tables, Specs & Comparisons.
Display options on the listing: templates, custom CSS, color and font, import and export, floating chart, multi-language, product page, mobile responsive. Works with: AI, Excel, Google Sheets. That is the promise: you do not have to retype if you start from a sheet or from AI.
What we do not claim: a labelled “Upload .xlsx” button, column mapping, or that every workbook becomes a Size chart 1:1. The topic seed is explicit: no click path the docs do not write. Yes: screenshot or an image export of the tab, AI draft, Structure review, Enable, theme.
What is Tables, Specs & Comparisons?: scratch or AI → Structure → Design → Settings (enable, visibility) → Theme (embed and/or blocks).
After AI: check module types. Weight/Price/Color should be Shopify modules when the value must stay live — that is specs/compare, not always a size chart. For a size chart: centimetres as a table block, not frozen screenshot pixels.
Google Sheets: same story as Excel. The listing names both. No extra Sheets plugin.
Documented path:
Open the Women tab. Drop a hundred empty rows. Drop a merged title across six columns if you do not need it.
Screenshot or export-to-image, under 4 MB, PNG/JPEG/WebP/GIF.
Generate with AI. Check the type: Size chart, not Specs by accident.
Men and Women in one file? Docs: separate blocks. Not one table with a grey “Men” spacer row.
Structure: centimetres, headers (XS–XL or chest/waist). Design: brand colour, popup or inline.
Settings: Enable. Visibility: All products or Selected products. Theme: Size chart block, or auto-placement above Add to cart when the block is missing and the embed is on.
Refine with AI on Structure: type stays locked. New sheet next season: text or a new screenshot, confirm before structure replaces. Design refine (URL, screenshot) leaves structure alone.
Shortcode `[oo-table id=YOUR_TABLE_ID]` is allowed, embed on, table enabled. On a normal PDP the Size chart block is easier to keep. Specs do not auto-inject next to Add to cart — do not claim that, even if the workbook was “specs”.
“Knit Lab”. Sweater with chest/waist/length. Factory workbook. The Shopify product already has Color as a variant (real SKUs). The size chart is not a variant.
Install the app. Free.
Women tab as a screenshot ≤ 4 MB. Generate with AI. Type Size chart.
Men and Kids: their own generate or Refine, their own blocks. Visibility on the right products.
Design: short trigger copy, brand colour. Custom CSS after Design has the colours, not before.
Embed + Size chart block near price / buy buttons. Check a phone. Translate the trigger in Settings if Markets has DE — customer-facing strings, not the admin description.
Next drop: new screenshot, Refine Structure, confirm. The old PNG in product media can go.
Import/export on the listing is useful as a backup between shops or as a file you keep. Without a documented click path we will not promise a round-trip to the cell. Centimetres have to be right in Structure after AI, not “because Excel said so”.
Quick start: Create table, or Generate with AI.
Sheet: clean it, screenshot, max 4 MB. Men + Women = separate blocks.
Review Structure. Enable. Theme block or auto-placement.
Season change: Refine Structure, not a second dead PNG.
No other OO app in this post. No competitor names.
Shopify import a table from Excel is not a promise that every .xlsx becomes a live size chart by magic. It is: the listing supports Excel, Sheets, import/export, and AI; docs let you draft from a description or a screenshot; you check the centimetres in Structure. Retyping into native Shopify is how FW26 lands twice.
Turn the sheet into OO - Advanced Table Builder. The PNG can leave the gallery.
