You install the app and land on three numbers plus Start editing. It looks like a splash screen. It is not. The Shopify bulk customer editor dashboard is the home: how many customers this app has already updated, how many named views exist, which segments you can jump into in bulk.
OO - Bulk Customer Data Editor is Free. Listing 0.0 (0 reviews). Spreadsheet in admin for fields Shopify’s standard editor is weak at in bulk — especially Customer Locale and tax-exemption status. Excel and Google Sheets via CSV. UI in English.
Related: saving bulk customer edits in batches. That is the save bar. This is the home you enter from.
Without it, every session is Customers → More actions → Edit in bulk, then rebuild columns. The “Locale empty” view never becomes a team habit. Docs Understanding the dashboard: after you open Bulk Customer Editor, Dashboard is the home screen.
Usual skips:
Stay on Shopify’s customer index. Open one profile, fix locale, next. Four thousand imported rows later, nothing is clean.
Open the grid from More actions, never save a view. The column picker is per browser. Save and reuse views are shop-wide. The dashboard lists them under Your views with Open.
Treat segments as reports only. Recent segments on the dashboard starts bulk edit for that segment.
None of those surfaces Edits, Views, and Segments on one screen.
Edits — customers successfully updated through this app. Store-wide counter, not an inbox of unfinished work.
Views — saved views on this shop.
Segments — customer segments available when segment access works. Staff without customer permissions see less here.
Edits = 0 after install is expected. After an 800-row locale fix it should rise. Views = 0 means nobody named a grid yet. Segments empty or erroring: check `read_customers` / `write_customers` before blaming the counter.
Start editing opens the spreadsheet — same grid as Customers → More actions → Edit in bulk. From the app: this button or sidebar Customers.
Your views — recent saved views, Open. That applies columns, filters, sort, optional segment without hunting the Views control inside the grid.
Recent segments — jump into bulk edit for a segment. Useful when “Wholesale, locale blank” already exists in Shopify.
Sidebar: Customers and Segments. Home stays the dashboard.
Help: in-app support chat and documentation, both from this screen. If a promo for other software appears, dismiss it. This post stays on the customer editor.
Locale and tax exempt are columns in the spreadsheet, not dashboard widgets. Home is the door, plus the views that remember those columns.
Shop “Candle Co”. 6,200 customers from an old store. Locale blank. Some tax-exempt flags that retail should not have.
Dashboard at install: Edits 0, Views 0, Segments already populated (Shopify had “Email subscribers”).
Start editing. Columns: email, Locale, tax exempt, tags.
Filter empty locale. Bulk apply `en`. Save, keep the tab open through batches.
Save view “Locale empty”. Back on home: Views = 1, Open is waiting.
Second view “Tax exempt audit” for wholesale tags.
Next month: open the app, Open the view. Do not rebuild columns. Edits is not an audit log; it is a sanity check that the app wrote.
Staff need `read_customers` and `write_customers`. Restricted staff may not load segments — same note as Open the editor.

What the dashboard is not:
Not the CSV import screen. Import/export live elsewhere. Home does not count imports. After a migration you still open Start editing or the import flow.
Not a locale fix by itself. Edits only rises after a successful save in the grid.
Not a private layout. Views are shop-wide. A “Locale empty” view you save is what Your views is for — the rest of the team can Open it.
Not infinite select-all. Inside the editor, matching select-all still caps at 50,000. The dashboard does not show that cap as a gauge.
If Segments stays at 0 while Shopify has segments: staff permissions or the `read_customers` / `write_customers` scopes. Docs: restricted staff may not load segments or customer data. That is not a broken counter.
CSV is a different door. If you only want Excel, export from the editor, not from the three numbers. Home is the jump into the grid and into the named views that remember that grid. After a large save, glance at Edits once: if it did not move, the batch is still running or a row failed — open the grid, do not sit on the counter.
Apps → Bulk Customer Editor. You are on the dashboard.
Start editing, or Customers → More actions → Edit in bulk.
First job: Locale or tax exempt, not twelve columns.
Save as new view. Confirm Your views on home.
Chat or docs from the same screen if a save stalls.
Docs: Understanding the dashboard, What is Bulk Customer Editor?.
The Shopify bulk customer editor dashboard is Edits, Views, Segments, Start editing, and Open on your views. It does not replace the grid. It is where the team finds the named job. Locale and tax exempt still live in that grid.
Open home from OO - Bulk Customer Data Editor. One view, one Open, no column picker from scratch.
